Engineering educators are increasingly expected to help students develop not only technical expertise, but also the mindset and practical capability to turn ideas into action—across disciplines, in collaboration with industry, and within complex real-world contexts. This webinar invites a shared exploration of how entrepreneurship can be embedded within engineering education, moving from aspiration and mindset to everyday teaching practice.
Drawing on experiences across academia, industry, and educational start-ups, the session will reflect on practical examples from curriculum design, project-based learning, assessment, and industry engagement. Rather than presenting a single model or set of solutions, the webinar will surface what has worked, what has been challenging, and where open questions remain. Systems thinking will be used as a connecting lens to consider how students learn to navigate context, trade-offs, and impact.
This SEFI@work is brought to you by the SEFI Special Interest Group on Entrepreneurship.
Speakers:
- Nikita Hari, Head of Teaching and Design Support Group at the Department of Engineering, University of Oxford
- Asif Khan, Saxion University of Applied Sciences
