Do you have an interest in digital learning? Are you exploring new ways to innovate in this space—or looking for support as you navigate the rapid pace of technological change in education?

The SEFI Digital Learning Special Interest Group (SIG) has been established to replace the former Open and Online Education SIG. The group provides a forum for members to share best practices, collaborate on projects, and explore emerging areas such as the use of artificial intelligence in education.

Following the successful meeting at the 2025 SEFI Annual Conference in Finland, where members identified key priorities for the coming year, including expanding expertise in AI and developing resources to support digital innovation across engineering education.

The SIG currently has 17 members, co-chaired by Mikko Nurminen (Tampere University) and Andrew Garrard (University of Sheffield), and we are keen to welcome new participants.

The group is building a shared repository of Open Educational Resources (OER) a “Tools Exchange”, and they are now inviting members to contribute teaching materials, tools, and examples that can support digital learning across the SEFI community.

If you would like to join or learn more about the group, or contribute to the OER repository, please visit the members’ website:
