In July 2017 the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw became a new member of SEFI. The university has been operating for 16 years and its priority has always been continuous improvement of the quality of teaching, as well as high education level so that it meets the highest European standards.
The IULT owes its success and leading position mostly to innovative curricula in the Logistics, Transport and Civil Engineering majors, as well as the excellent academic staff, including foreign lecturers – experts in their respective fields, regularly updating their knowledge and caring about students’ development. One of the main areas of the university’s activity is to promote the international cooperation in the education field, scientific research and cooperation with the socio-economic environment to adapt to the requirements of the ever-changing global labour market.
The International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw is the only university in Poland being a member of CILT(UK) – the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, and therefore belonging to the elite group of universities and institutes, such as the Oxford Brookes University, Cardiff University and London Institute of Shipping and Trade. This distinction is highlighted by the fact that the IULT is the only university in the Central and Eastern Europe that has been accredited by the British institute for the undergraduate, engineering and graduate Logistics studies. This achievement is the result of developing didactic standards, introducing practical elements in the process of education, using interdisciplinary methods of teaching, modernizing the scientific infrastructure (professional logistic laboratories) and cooperating with the business environment. Being a member of CILT(UK) guarantees the students wide professional perspectives in logistics. The certificate attached to the IULT graduate diploma is recognized and preferred by the world’s leading logistics companies. The IULT graduates can find employment in the best employers from all around the world.
Responding to the expectations of the labour market the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw as the only university in the region has introduced the dual studies program: study for 3 days, work for 2 days, the tuition fee is covered by the company! This is the consistent implementation of the policy of educating managers prepared for administering modern systems and ready for taking up work both in Poland and abroad. Dual studies at the IULT combine theoretic courses with practical activities in the form of paid internships in partner companies. Participants receive a monthly salary, no less than the amount of the monthly tuition fee at the university. After completing the program students not only have the knowledge, but also at least 2 years of valuable work experience.
The International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw holds a high position in national university rankings and has been awarded with many certificates and prizes. In 2003 the university was awarded the prize of the French Prime Minister for the best European educational project, among 92 projects from the whole world. The IULT is the best specialized logistics university in Poland according to the rating “Perspektywy 2016” (a leading Polish monthly magazine). In 2017 in the Non-public Graduate Universities General Ranking the International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw took the 3rd place, gaining the title of the High Reputation University Premium Brand 2017. Respondents described the IULT as a Prestigious University that is worth recommending to others. For 17 years the university has been continuously awarded the “Trustworthy School” certificate and since 2011, incessantly, the “School of Leaders” certificate. The International University of Logistics and Transport in Wroclaw organizes many international scientific conferences related to logistics, transport and forwarding. The results of research made by the IULT staff and researchers from other universities are published in English in the “Logistics and Transport” scientific journal (ISSN no. 1734-2015), highly appraised (with 13 points out of 15) by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.
