SEFI 2026 – Special Session: Community building around research career challenges

Organised by: Inês Direito (University of Aveiro), Homero Murzi (TAMU) and Becky Bergman (Chalmers University of Technology) on behalf of the Capacity Building SIG and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion SIG
This event will focus on community building for you who have experienced challenges around your chosen research career in recent years. This might be connected to opportunities connected to external factors including but not limited to changes in funding, changes in institutional or organisational priorities, or having to relocate due to personal reasons. The event will not focus explicitly on the political situation in any single country. Instead, it will acknowledge political contexts across the globe, while also making space for other factors that may shape participants’ experiences, including personal circumstances.
Finger food and non-alcoholic drinks will be provided
