We are proud to announce the official release of the 2025–2026 SEFI Annual Report. The report outlines a year defined by extraordinary community growth, new institutional initiatives, and a deepened commitment to making engineering education a globally connected field.
The Spring Symposium of IACEE (3-4 April 2025) which took place at Purdue University, USA, had a strong in-person SEFI representation with many members of the CEE/LLL Special Interest Group in person, namely:
- Dr. Patricia Caratozzolo, Institute for the Future of Education, Tecnológico de Monterrey, Mexico,
- Dr. Christopher J.M. Smith, Glasgow Caledonian University
- Sonia M. Gomez-Puente, Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands
- Bente Nørgaard, Aalborg University, Denmark
- Hans-Ulrich Heiß, TU Berlin Academy for Professional Education, Germany
- Matias Urenda Moris, Uppsala University, Sweden
- Katriina Schrey-Niemenmaa, Academic Engineers and Architects in Finland TEK, Finland
Patricia and Chris were invited to present on the development of a taxonomy for Continuing Engineering Education (see Frontiers in Education paper and SEFI 2024 proceedings p2681). The session engaged international colleagues by getting further inputs around important CEE terms from the assembled international experts, to refine and further validate the CEE taxonomy. The CEE taxonomy team will use this to inform the development and refinement of the taxonomy.
We are very proud of our partnership with the International Association for Continuing Engineering Education!
