Innovative interventions to improve social & academic integration of STEM university students
We are glad to support the brand Erasmus+ project called In-4-STEM, as associate partners. The project aims to improve social and academic integration of new STEM students by designing and implementing innovative interventions that tackle challenges that are experienced by minorities such as first-generation, women, and apprenticeship students. The goal of this project is to improve the first year experience of a more diverse pool of STEM students.
Objectives
- Identify the challenges faced by minorities during transition in various European STEM universities;
- Develop and validate a tool to measure the social and academic integration of new STEM students;
- Design, implement, and evaluate innovative interventions that address the identified challenges and improve social and academic integration during transition into STEM;
The consortium consists of 4 partner universities that are members of the SEFI network; KU Leuven, TU Dublin, TU/e, and ENSTA, and three Associate Partners: Board of European Students of Technology (BEST), Instituts des Techniques d’Ingénieur de l’Industrie (ITII) and ourselves, the European Society for Engineering Education (SEFI).
The kick-off meeting of the project will take place on 3 April 2025 between 12:15 – 13:45 (CET). Join to discuss with the partners and to share your feedback!
