SEFI and the Canadian Engineering Education Association (CEEA-ACÉG) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding. As two of the world’s leading organizations dedicated to the advancement of engineering pedagogy, SEFI and CEEA-ACÉG both strive to prepare the next generation of engineers to solve complex, global challenges. This formal agreement strengthens the ties between European and Canadian institutions, faculty, and researchers.

SEFI President Emanuela Tilley and CEEA-ACÉG President Gabriel Potvin seek to encourage collaboration between the two organizations as well as the exchange of information about their relevant activities, while promoting understanding and cooperation between their respective members.

As part of the Memorandum of Understanding, SEFI and CEEA-ACÉG share the objectives to:

  • Enhance the quality of engineering/engineering technology education at all academic levels.
  • Promote new ideas in engineering/engineering technology education and pedagogy.
  • Encourage the exchange and dissemination of knowledge advancing engineering/engineering
    technology education.
  • Improve the didactic/pedagogic qualification/accreditation of higher education lecturers,
    professors, teachers and trainers with the goal of enhancing the quality of engineering
    education/engineering technology education.
  • Promote collaboration within the global community with other stakeholders.

This partnership comes at a critical time when engineering education must rapidly adapt to technological advancements and evolving societal needs. By combining the strengths of the European and Canadian networks, SEFI and CEEA-ACÉG are uniquely positioned to drive meaningful change on a global scale.
