SEFI Elects New Vice-President and Board Members at the 2026 General Assembly

During the SEFI General Assembly, held on 8 September 2026 as part of the SEFI Annual Conference 2026 at the Czech Technical University in Prague, SEFI members elected a new Vice-President and seven new members of the SEFI Board of Directors. Several new leadership appointments within SEFI’s Special Interest Groups (SIGs) were also confirmed, reflecting the continued growth and engagement of the SEFI community.

Euan Lindsay Elected SEFI Vice-President

Following the election process, Euan Lindsay (Aalborg University, Denmark) was elected SEFI Vice-President for the period October 2026 to September 2028.

As Vice-President, Euan will work alongside the Board of Directors to support SEFI’s mission of strengthening engineering education across Europe and beyond.

New Members Join the Board of Directors

Members also elected seven Board members for a three-year mandate running from October 2026 to September 2029.

The newly elected Board members are:

• Aida Guerra, Aalborg University, Denmark
• Andrius Jurelionis, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania
• Diana Martin, University College London, United Kingdom
• Luis Manuel Sánchez Ruiz, Universitat Politècnica de València, Spain
• Erja Sipilä, Tampere University, Finland

The following Board members were elected for another mandate:

• Yolande Berbers, KU Leuven, Belgium
• Inês Direito, Universidade Aberta, Portugal

Together, they bring a wealth of expertise spanning engineering education, research, curriculum development, sustainability, digital learning, and academic leadership. Their appointment further strengthens the diversity and international character of the SEFI Board.
