SILESIAN UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY: MOVING FORWARD EDUCATION OF THE FUTURE
The Silesian University of Technology (SUT) has received almost PLN 30 million (nearly 8 mln EURO) worth of funding (co-financed by European Funds) for the project entitled “Silesian University of Technology as a Center for Modern Education based on research and innovation” from The National Centre for Research and Development.
The aim of the awarded project is to carry out deep changes within the next four years in the field of education and operations of SUT. The amount obtained will be used primarily to modernize education for all studies at the university, including Project Based Learning, internships and international cooperation. The studies will have a more interdisciplinary character than before. A modern School of Doctors (Ph.D. students) will also be developed at the SUT, which will offer an interdisciplinary model of education in 11 scientific disciplines. Furthermore, courses of study in English will also be launched, which will increase the internationalization of the university.
The project will be managed by Prof. Seweryn Spalek, a SEFI BoD member.
