Structure of SEFI
The General Assembly made up of all the members of the Society meets every year, usually on the occasion of the Annual Conference.
It elects the members of the Administrative Council as well as the Vice-Presidents and the President. It has full powers in allowing the aims of the Society to be fulfilled. The Administrative Council, composed of a maximum of 21 elected members, is responsible for the general policy of the Society. It also has the power to elect a Bureau for effecting specific tasks within the general scope of the decisions passed by the Council.
The President is elected for two years, and he/she is assisted by two Vice-Presidents, elected for one or three years.
The Vice-President elected in an even year shall automatically succeed after one year the President at the termination of the latter’s mandate.
The Vice-President elected in an odd year shall serve a three-year mandate as Vice-President.
Every three years, the General Assembly elects on a proposal of the Administrative Council, a Treasurer who is responsible for the supervision of the Society’s finances.
The Headquarters, directed by the Secretary-General (francoise.come@sefi.be), has to carry out the decisions of the Administrative Council and contribute to the formulating of the Society’s policy under the supervision of the Council.
The activities of the Society are essentially financed by the annual subscription of its members.
